How to clear filters in Excel?
There are two main methods to clear filters in Excel, offering a choice between using the ribbon or a keyboard shortcut:
1. Clearing Filters via the Data Tab:
- Click on the Data tab located on the Excel ribbon. This tab houses various tools for data manipulation, including sorting and filtering.
- Find the Sort & Filter group within the Data tab. This section contains buttons specifically designed for sorting and filtering tasks.
- Locate the Clear button within the Sort & Filter group. It's usually depicted with a funnel icon with an "X" inside.
- Click the Clear button. This action will remove any active filters currently applied to your data set, returning all rows to visibility.
2. Clearing Filters with a Keyboard Shortcut:
For users who prefer keyboard shortcuts for faster navigation, Excel offers a handy option to clear filters:
- Press and hold the Alt key on your keyboard. This key combination acts as a modifier for activating keyboard shortcuts within Excel.
- While holding Alt, press the D key, followed by the F key, and then the F key again (Alt+D+F+F). This specific sequence of keys corresponds to the Clear function within the Sort & Filter group.
Remember, both methods achieve the same outcome - clearing all active filters in your worksheet. Choose the method that best suits your workflow and preferences.
