You are learning PivotTables in MS Excel

How to export PivotTables to other applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint)?

There are two main ways to export PivotTables to other applications like Word or PowerPoint:

1. Copy and Paste:

This is a simple method for basic exporting:

- Format the PivotTable: In Excel, format your PivotTable for presentation purposes (font size, borders, etc.) as desired.
- Copy the PivotTable: Right-click anywhere within the PivotTable and choose "Copy" or use the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl + C".
- Paste into the target application: Open your Word or PowerPoint document and navigate to where you want the PivotTable to appear. Right-click and choose "Paste" or use "Ctrl + V".

Note: This method may paste the PivotTable as an image, limiting formatting options in the target application. You can also choose "Paste Special" and select "Paste Values" or "Paste Link" for different pasting behaviors.

2. Export as Excel Worksheet:

This method allows more control over formatting and potential editing in the target application:

- Right-click the PivotTable: Select the PivotTable you want to export. Right-click anywhere within it.
- Choose "Move or Copy": In the context menu, select "Move or Copy."
- Create a new worksheet (optional): If you want the PivotTable in a separate worksheet, check the box "Create a copy" and choose "(New sheet)" from the "To location" dropdown.
- Click OK: Click "OK" to create a new worksheet containing only your formatted PivotTable.
- Copy the worksheet: Right-click anywhere on the new worksheet with the PivotTable and choose "Copy" or use "Ctrl + C".
- Paste into the target application: Open your Word or PowerPoint document and navigate to where you want the PivotTable. Right-click and choose "Paste" or use "Ctrl + V".

Benefits:
- Pastes as a linked or embedded Excel object, allowing some formatting adjustments within the target application.
- You can further format the object in Word or PowerPoint (e.g., resize, add borders).

Additional Considerations:

- Formatting may differ: Remember that formatting might not translate perfectly between Excel and other applications.
- Live updates: If you choose to copy as an Excel object, changes made to the original PivotTable in Excel might not automatically update in the target application.

These methods should allow you to export your PivotTables for use in other applications like Word or PowerPoint. Choose the method that best suits your needs for formatting and potential editing within the target application.
